I guess I'm confused as to how you are offering the mealworms to your Leo? They should be removed from the bedding and placed in a small shallow dish of some sort.

Put meal worms in a small dish with nothing but meal worms in it, no bedding. If you want to get exotic you can put calcium powder in the dish and drop meal worms on top of the powder. But leave the "bedding" in the plastic container it came in.
