Thats a Colombian Boa Constrictor, or Boa Constrictor Imperator. They are great snakes, usually grow to about 6-7 feet. Good luck.

i went and did some looking on what you thought it was ...and not saying you are wrong at all.. but in my opinion looking at the pic of my snake side by side with the one you said and the retic, it looks alot more like the retic than any other... lol..i said in the ball fourm i wish someone lived here in Georgia close that could come by and have a look.

I am very confident what you have is a Colombian Boa. A retic 5-6 feet long would be a very young retic, and much thinner than yours. My retic is 5.5 feet and only a few months old shes also about two inches in diameter. Heres a Colombian that resembles yours.

Thanks yeah i just talked to someone today that thought the same thing. That my snake is just a really dark one. Well after all this i am wanting to get a retic. does anyone know a good place to buy a baby? I want someone that has a good reputation. Thanks for the imput from everyone
