Cleaning

DeltaWoods Jul 25, 2003 02:30 PM

I have a baby gecko, about 10 weeks old and i wanted to clean out and change the substrate today. I dont want to have to take her out of the tank and put her into something else because i know that will stress her out. But is that the only way? Do some of you just clean around the gecko? Thanks for any cleaning tips.

It should cause too much stress, maybe you can get it into a cup and move it to another cage instead of holding it?

i don't suggest clean around the gecko because of the fumes or chemicals that can get on or near the gecko.. you can just spot clean with the gecko in the cage.. i try to clean the cage when my female leo is sleeping in her humid hide.. that way she is in a place where she is comfortable and doesn't stress out.
