Feeding questions...how much is too much ???

xxradxx Jan 22, 2006 02:38 PM

First, I have a 5-6 month old male beardie who is growing like crazy so he loves his bugs. He will eat upto 45 full grownth crickets in one sitting. I always give him his salad in the morning so he eats plenty of greens too. Is 45 too many ? I've heard people say they will eat until they die, but he pretty much lets me know when he's done.

The accepted rule for feeding is to over as many crickets or other insects (of the appropriate size) for 5-10 min period then stop. All dragons are different, some eat huge amounts of food, others are very slow eaters and don't eat anywhere near the volumn of other dragons. Providing your dragon looks healthy, is active and not showing signs of obesity, you should be fine.
