The least horny snake in America...

This is the adult male Argentine that has been driving me crazy. You can see the female wrapped around him, on her side with a little preovulation swell and ready for action. What does he have to say, "Maybe after the game honey? And get me another beer while you're up!" I'll get a better pic when the new camera gets here, but you can see why I wish he would get to it, even with the crap camera. And he's the ugly one! I hope everyone else is having better luck with their adults. We'll see some amazing animals this year!

my snake room to check on everything, everone was happy, but i could see something going on in the anrgentine cages,so i wped the little step ladder over to have a better look.I couldn't beleave what i was seeing, they were locked face to face taggled up,and and twisting around(down rite fighting)lol,so i satrted spaying them and got the female under control as,she had the better hold,so i witch them a bit and left the room.Minutes later i could here something slaming around, sure as hell they were at it again,i stoped them again, this is good one,,,,about 5 minutes later they were copulating,,,i had to share this,i have never seen boas do this before, even if they were both males

This may or may not be relevant, but spraying them might , to them at least, simulate the rainy season. Is this when Boas breed in the wild? I do know this works sometimes with Ball Pythons and a few others. Just a thought.

Hey Phil, do you have lots of experience breeding Argentine Boas?

I've read that they need to be cooled quite a bit more than bci/bcc.. like into the 60's... have you ever heard of this before?

thanks much, joe

He was placed in a big old tub with no heat. The temps were in the mid-high 60s. Glad to see things are going better at your crib. Maybe I'll squeeze a couple other pairs together here in a month or two. Good luck on your end.
