sterilite and heat tape....yes or no?

i have some 41 qt sterilite tubs. would flexwatt be the way to go or not? if so, is 11" x 12" a good size for the flexwatt for those tubs? all help and comments welcome....

In a 41q its 95 at the back by the tape, 85 up front by the water. You dont need more than the 3inch if you ask me. No need to over do it..............

while the 3" tape will give you the heat gradient that one desires, in my opinion, it does not offer a large enough actual basking area that some snakes require for proper eating habits. I've had some animals, if they couldn't fit their entire body on the basking site, their feeding habbits were aggrivating at the best. The 11" tape still will offer a decent heat gradient of 93/hot side, and 85/cold side in my room that is kept at 80 degrees. BTW, I use 11" tape on all my 41 qt tubs.
