That is a strange looking kingsnake. Just kidding!I like that pattern and those colors. Is that a monitor lizard? Derek
Trying to be politically correct since this not the Uro-forum. . . But nice Uro anyway! Found A LOT of Uro-Aegyptius when I was in Iraq & Kuwait. Learned a great deal about their daily lifestyle, since they were VERY common there!

You need to look at your varny field guide, everone knows the barny variety is purple that's how you seperate the barny from the varny,i don't know maybe it's a intergade with a little uro tossed in. Only Frank knows for sure, maybe he'll elaborate.
that is a very nice monitor, they are favorite lizards!
must be winter if we're that far off-topic

Hey Zee, I breed the Egyptians too. I'd love to hear more about what you observed over there. Can I call you sometime?
Shoot me an e-mail off-forum? (lpreptiles@aol.com)

WOW! That's A beauty!!! Very, very nice animal!!! I'll shoot you an e-mail, and yes, you can call me and I'll be more than happy to share my observations with you. You know what's most amazing about Aegiptius? Their burrows are AMAZING!!! Very large and long burrows that usually go down to a depth of about 5-6 feet, with a total length of up to 20 feet!!! And that's considering the fact that a lot of the dirt they dig in is very hard!!!
A pic to keep things on topic:
