Arrggghhh!! Everybody has a 40 gallon breeder!!! I am having the hardest time like you wouldn't believe even finding a 40g breeder tank!!!
I hate to ask a personal question so if you don't want to answer it, I'll understand. I was taught that it's rude to ask a person what they paid for something but...I wonder what did you pay for just the tank alone?
I've found one in another town that will cost $110.00, if you don't want to answer exactly how much you paid for the tank can you say if you paid that much? We're still deciding if we want to go get that tank or not.

It's beautiful the whole set up looks great. The only comment I would have is that if the turtles can reach the fish eventually those fish may become dinner. Maybe they won't but it could happen.

That's such a nice settup. What are your future plans, when the turtles get bigger? And depending on the Cichlids, they can get huge, too.

A pet shop near me sells 40breeders for $60.

The tank was $99 at Petco. I'm not too worried about the fish. They didn't cost much and if they eventually get eaten so be it.

Thanks to you & everyone else who responded about the prices. We want a 40g breeder for a mud turtle not a slider & have been having a hard time finding one. The only we could find is the one slightly over 100 dollars.
Our painted just got a new 55 gallon tank, he's moved on up to the East side to a dee-luxe apartment in the sky lol.. so it's time for the mud to do the same.
I just hate to buy the first thing I see without shopping around so knowing what other people are paying for these tanks is a big help to me in making a decision.
About your fish, I hope they don't get eaten anytime soon. I'd love to have a few cichlids myself but I've always been better at turtle keeping than fish keeping so.. I don't know if I'll ever try keeping fish for fun & not turtle food.
Thanks again!

I have a big RES that is too big now for her 40 gallon breeder. I'd be happy to sell it to you with stand for $50! If you live anywhere near NYC let me know.
