here's an '02 girl of mine.
this is an '04 male with lots of speckling.
Nice animals you got there. The 02' male looks to very well fed too!
But anyway here's a pair of North Florida sticticeps: Ok, actually just a pair of easterns with nice speckling. Here in North Carolina I can't keep true sticticeps so I have these: The top pic is Nick's (Foxturtle) male, which he let me use to breed to my female (in the bottom pic) this spring. Both of these are WC from Lake city, Florida.

yeah thanks zee...you know, the '02(a female)sure does appear a little fat, though i am pretty caerful not to feed her too much....i think she may just require a slight increase in temp....hey those are nice looking kings you got there-i esp.like that lower one, with the narrower bands-just looks more natural to me-but i guess that's because i've never found one very with wide bands,lol.....
Thanks . . . Even here in North Carolina I can still find some easterns with wider bands than others (even if found only feet apart!). They are quite variable, but based on the hundreds of easterns I've found in the wild in my life, I have to admit that it's generally the males that exhibit more white and/or wider crossbands than the females. Finding a female in the wild with wide crossbands IS a rarity!

that's a new one to me,keith...thanks for the tip,i will keep an eye out for it.
Nice Outer Banks king you have there! Here is my primary breeding male. He is from Bartlett's high speckled line.

...compete with attitude. She was reportedly collected on Hatteras Island a loooong time ago.

This baby was produced by the above pair. I think Keith now has this one. Last year they were a pain in the arse to get feeding on mice. This year they were readily crushing pinkies (literally and figuratively) within 2 weeks of hatching. Thanks for looking.

i like that 'wild girl'-looks downright fiesty,lol.....plus that's a really nice clean pattern on her, down her sides....yeah i really dunno why these are'nt more popular-but hey, maybe it's better that way....but ever since i saw my first obx king,i was really hooked-had to have some...maybe i just have a thing for those 'problematical forms',lol....
