pics of the other two

UAWPrez Jan 22, 2006 07:39 PM

Here are a couple pics of the other two pits I got this week. The first one is of a 0.1 black pine snake '05, she's got a bit of an attitude.
The next one is of a 1.0 red bull '05. Hopefully he'll color up over the next year or so. He's a little hissy, but otherwise pretty mellow. I'm getting a het red bull 0.1 shipped to my house on Wednesday. Oh, by the way, the Rhodesian Ridgeback (Hondo) in the background wasn't impressed.

first time I saw one of those dogs and the stiff ridge of hair growing the WRONG WAY along their back, I was amazed! Oh, and I also have one of those (WC) spouses. Mine is from Portugal, and,has never bitten me yet. I just don't touch her if her pupils are dilated.

I could be wrong, but I don't think that there are het for red bulls. I'm pretty sure it is a line bred trait, so the "het" should red up a little, just not as much. I'm sure you can still produce some nice ones like that though. Maybe someone else can offer more feedback on the reds, or you can post another topic addressing het red bulls.

It's just like the story of the grasshopper and the octopus. All year long the grasshopper stored up acorns for winter, while the octopus mooched off his girlfriend and watched tv. And then the winter came, and the grasshopper died, and the octopus stole all his acorns, and he got a race car. Is any of this sinking in?

You are exactly right as far as the reds are concerned in my experience. We have three different lines of red phase bulls from different locales, each of them when bred to normal bulls from near or exactly the same locales are producing a pink tinged animal which is pretty, but not the red you started with. Even when red is bred to red there are what is a normal, but pretty bull produced every once in a while. The genetics are in there for the normal from that locale and it will pop up once in a while. So far we are running about 2% of the hatchlings that end up looking like normals. This is only based on 113 hatchlings, so it could be more or less dramatic.

What kind of dog do you have in that second picture? From above, he/she looks exactly like our dog, and we have no clue what kind she is. ( nice snakes btw, i especially like the 1st shot.
