New to Breeding

MotaRaider Jan 22, 2006 09:28 PM

Hello everybody... I will be breeding my Pastel male this year in an attempt to get a female to add to my collection. I want a Super but i dont wanna pay for him. Anyway, I was wondering if anybody could give me any advice in which incubator to use. I have read about the Hova Bator incubator. Has anybody used this particular model? I need a retail option, unfortunately i have no access to tools or a workshop. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Jason

The Hova-bator is a good starter model. You will want to make some adjustments though depending on the model you get. Some people go out and spend $500 dollars on an incubator to find that breeding is not for them. The Hova-bator is good enough, and inexpensive enough to test the waters. Have you considered maternal incubation?

Maternal incubation....is that just letting the mother care for the eggs?

I don't use maternal incubation. But others on this forum do. I would either do a search or ask what steps you would need to perform. Basically, you need to provide an environment with adequate heat and humidity. Of course, there's quite a bit more to it.
