adamjeffery Jan 23, 2006 12:40 PM

i know that they are basically ground dwelling and like to bury themselves. they sometimes have probs. shedding. they like high humidity, and young are snappy. they average 5-6 ft
what i dont know is when are they sexually mature, can you tell the males apart from females by looks, how many eggs is the average, how long until the colors change, how much girth do they have, what size is a good tub for them.
i know ive asked alot of you guys but this will be my first python other than a ball and just want to get it right . i wont be purchasing any until im fully confident that i know all i can so please help im going to the ny metro expo in april and if the price is right, and im confident by then ill pick some up hurry its only 2 mos away.
thanks adam

a strange bird to be sure, they remind of the aspidites clade to some degree. I would suggest reading the Barker's book and Reproductive Husbandry of Pythons and Boas by Ross and Marzek.
Good luck!
