Monitor housing update>>>>READ....

bigdee Jan 23, 2006 10:44 PM

I havent been here in some time but last I read everyone just talked about trouhs for housing monitors. I am unable to get a trough and have not seen them here in Jersey, so anyone using any other housing method besides trouhs, Im thinking of getting some ackies and maybe breeding them. I would also love to see your pics of your housing. Thanks to all that reply

I used a trough that I bought at tractor supply company. I think you can order from the web, just google it. Another idea would be to use a large rubbermade tote or two depending on how big you go. You can see examples of the trough being used at www.pizards.com, the argus section has some pictures. I would get some ideas from there and go with some totes since they are cheaper and more available.

You say a tote or 2? How would I use 2? Also are the 50 gal rubbermaids large enough for 2 ackies? I sure would appreciate some pics of you alls housing for ackies. I cant get any troughs but I can get some totes and such, I actually used one for an ackie I use to have as you can see in the pic but I was told it was too small. The cage is sits on is 4x2x2. Im looking for ideas for making tops for it as well.
