so we decided to get a water dragon from petco really active little guy im just worried since it keeps on knocking itself into the glass.. any suggestions would help greatly also i tried feeding it wax worms. at first i put a bunch into the feeding dish and he ignored them then i tried to wiggle it infont of him and he just fell asleep... i dont know what else to try the people at petco told me to pry its mouth open and put the worm in there but i feel horrible doing that and i'm scared to try it because i think i might hurt him.. he's eating crikets but ignores the veggies... im worried if he only eats crickets that he might develop some problems.. any suggestions to any othese things would help me greatly thank you all!

#1 Glad you became a Water Dragon owner. They are kewl little guys.
#2 No prying mouths open to feed insects. When Godzilla/Crystal is hungry he'll eat. Eating only crickets is fine. Just make sure they themselves have been feed healthy gutload or veggies and have been dusted every other feeding in calcium dust and weekly in vitamin powder such as Reptivite. he will probably NOT eat vegetables so it is important that his crickets do. Offer food morning and evening (at least 2 hrs before lights out).
#3 Just in case the care sheet didn't cover everything, the basic habitat: Lights on 12 hr. off 12 hr. (just like you and I). Temps 84-88 with at least one "hot spot" with a basking branch at 90+. Godzillas water source should be on the 'cool" side of your set-up at around 75F and it should be changed at least daily. Humidity should be between 50-80% and the addition of sphagnum moss and frequent warm water mistings will help achieve this goal. Night-time temps can dip into the high 60's, but temps and drafts below 65 can cause respiratory distress and result in RI which can be fatal. Warm water soaks are usually appreciated by your dragon-especially when he is shedding.
Good luck with Godzilla and visit my website for other basic care requirements and to see my dragons.

I might be an expert on this as my mammoth male has made me one.

If he is in glass...put some construction paper on the outside so he cant see through it and see his reflection. IF he busts his lip open, get a product called Silvadine (it is not available OTC, you need a RX for it from your Vet or your Physician, tell the doc you burned yourself, that is what it is used for in humans, it costs about $4 from the pharmacy), and apply it in very thin amounts to the nose twice daily....

Believe me, nose rub is a real problem, get it in the bud early. My katrina (its a he), is missing much of his upper lip and his teeth are exposed due to his behavior, even though he was in a 10x10 room when it happened.
