I bought a pair of Black Gaps at Daytona.

My Black Gap female

Did you get them from David Doherty? I really like your snakes. Derek
Yeah, I got them from Dave
Yeah, me too. He really produces some really nice snakes. Thanks for sharing. Here are some others that I got frome him. Derek

I'll probably get some more from Dave in the future. I'm just getting into Kingsnakes. Been into venomous, mainly cobras and OZ/New Guinea elapids.
Can't be left out of this one.

What do you guys think of this Female. I am pairing her up with a Beautiful Male that I am getting in from David Doherty very soon. I will post pictures of the male once he comes in.
Extremely awesome!!! I was not aware that Dave had any more alterna for sale. He usually sells out.
Wayne
Very Nice!!!!
Don't worry. You didn't get left out, but you did outdo mine. Those are incredible GBK. I'm sure you are going to breed those, right? I definately want one. Where did you get them? Derek
Now those are somethin to hoot 'n' holler about! Way to go guys!

So I guess mine's a Black Gap (or close?). Somebody once told me Christmas Mt...
Walt
It could be either. Sometimes it's very hard to know eaxct locality if you don't know the background of the snakebreeding. Again, I would guess Christmas MTS, or even possibly a mix between B.Gap.
Wayne
It is hard to say what locale it is because the breeders keep track of the locale, but sometimes a snake looks like a certain locale, and it isn't. Yours might be either one. My girl does look similar to a Christmas Mtn, but she is a Black Gap. I bought her from David Doherty, and I know he is a reputible breeder. His website has pictures of some different locale, and so does the Alterna site. I have 2 non-locale GBKs, and I like them just as much. All of them are beautiful snakes. If they end up having babies, I will sell them as non-locale. It is just a preference. Locale usually goes for more money, but there are still some really nice looking non-locale. Where did you get yours, I forgot? Enjoy your snake no matter the locale. Derek
I got mine at a Reptile Show in St. Louis. I think the breeder lives nearby in Illinois or SE/SW Missouri, I forget...
My 10 yr old son picked her out. It was unlike any GBK I'd ever seen before, but he really loved her pattern, and since it was going to be his snake, I let him pick whatever he wanted. In hindsight, she's definitely not the "norm" and was a good choice.
Here's a more recent pic of her hitting on a pinkie. I stopped this feeding method when she bit me consecutive weeks. Now I put them outside her hide and she drags them in to eat.

Your son has very good taste.
Thanks! What a nice sentiment!
I'll pass it on. He'll be glad to hear that.
