Big Barneck, pics

I had these pictures taken last night while attempting to help remove some of the stuck shed on this big guy. This was the first time I've handled him like this, and it went very well despite his display of bravado inside the enclosure. Unfortunately though, he has a little rostral rub and it appears that his lengthy trip via Delta left him with a bit of an RI, but luckily he's so easy to deal with so medicating shouldn't be an issue. It's hard to tell by the pictures, which is why I encluded the tape measure, but he's somewhere between 11 and 13' and is definitely the largest scrub I've had the pleasure of working with. Enjoy.

I have 4 scrubs on breeding/exhibit loan at a friend of mine's zoo. The larger male is about 11'. They're very intelligent animals, with a nasty feeding response. They don't usually like being assisted with shedding

Yeah, I can't say he enjoyed my help, but eh, he dealt with it. The good thing is that even after I annoyed the crap out of him, he never once attempted to be defensive.

Unfortunately I don't have any solid background info on him. I know he's very LTC, but I suspect he was originally w.c. I don't know at what size he was brought in though. Jumping to an assumption based on his temperament, I'd say he's either been in captivity a very long time and has gotten pretty used to handling, or he's just one of those exceptinally calm w.c. ones.
