Any suggestions

So I recently purchased a adult pair of rhino's which turned out to be two males, OUCH! Well I am keeping them since they are in horrible shape and can't bring myself to send them back. So the male pictured below is a sweetheart and has tons of blue under the several sheds that are still stuck to him. Look at the picture below just in front of his hips and you will see a swell. This is filled with a yellowish liquid and I don't know if I should drain it or leave it and see what happens. I have never had rescued animals and don't really know what to do. Help Please

thanks
Jacob

Two males, huh? I know the feeling since I recently had 6 males here and only one female. I've placed 3 of the males and I think I'm going to leave things just the way they are now. Hope you find a nice female.

That blistered area definately needs treatment. It could be thermal burns or a skin infection...either way it could turn septic so should be treated by a vet. Topical treatments could include silvadene cream (that's what I have used on most rescues with skin infections or burns) but that animal may need oral or injected ABX.

That's a nice looking boy. I wish you lots of luck with him and his "brother".

So his name is officially Vegas. I felt it was fitting since he is lucky I got him. He is still rough but is filling in nicely. Can't wait till he sheds.

So Vegas is a chow hound. He will eat everything put in front of him. He loves marion, hope he doesn't get hooked on it. So he's starting to shed of the built up skin and his burns are healing nicely. I am still looking for a female to pair up with him. Vegas is 20" SVL, so he's a big boy and the female should be pretty close to his size. Would be interested in a breeding loan also.
