Pastel Ceylonese Python. Enjoy!

HighEndHerpsInc Jan 24, 2006 10:53 PM

Here are some pictures taken today of our male pastel ceylonese breeder. He is pictured with a normal ceylonese female mate to lend perspective and comparison. With each shed his amazing pastel yellows and light oranges intensify and lighten even more. We have no idea just how light he will eventually become. Only time will tell.

Opinions welcomed on this amazing animal.

David,
Curious as to the source of your male. I have a male that looks fairly similar that I have posted a photo of below. Unfortunately the colors didn't turn out well in the photo. I have also seen a few photos over the years of Ceylonese in the wild that have similar color patterns as well, but I don't know of very many in U.S. collections. This type all tend to show the washed out and blended colors on the head. Thanks,

Kelly

Hi Kelly,

Thanks for the compliments on our pastel male. I don't see any resemblance to your male. Very nice looking fella though all the same.

Apart from the color, which he said didn't reproduce well, the animals are practically identical.

How Kelly's polite question as to the source of the animal was completely ignored?

omfg, im sorry i have to say this. does it bother anyone else that breeders do not know the proper taxonomy of their animals??? highend has an add that says their "pastel" cylonese is the smallest in the family molorus..... try family boidae or if you really wanna be a trooper say its the smallest subspecies of molrus. sorry for the rant it just bugged me. on another note i see alot of comparison between both of the pimbura posted on this thread, they are both beautiful animals.

kelly, didn't you have a breeding pair of pimbura a while back? I remember seeing a pic of a really nice speciman you posted quite a while back. Are you still working with them? On another note, have you come across anyone working with pure indians? I still have a female that I'm trying to find a quality male for if you have any leads...

He is outstanding! Shall we begin praying, chanting, offering sacrifices--whatever it takes--that this be genetic, and only intensify in future offspring? Congrats on a beautiful fellow!
