Hi - I have a 4 year old female ATB that has eaten regularly her whole life (typically weekly but occasionally bi-weekly). She normally takes f/t rat pups and hopper mice with gusto right through the winter. I thaw the rodent, run it under VERY hot tap water and then offer it to the snake using tweezers.
She stopped eating mid-way through December and though I continue to offer her meals, she will investigate what I'm offering and then back off - I haven't even gotten her to strike in anger at a mouse! I tried braining the rat pup 2-weeks ago and that didn't work.
Her other daily behavior seems normal and she seems to cruise around her tank at night looking for food.
Any thoughts, ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as I am starting to panic.
