Bad shed question

phiber_optikx Jan 25, 2006 02:51 PM

I know Onyx is a king but a shed is a shed and I like you guys better He had a bad shed. It was a complete shed and was not really a "BAD" shed. He shed in 1 piece but a few random scales retained the old skin. This seems odd because it is literally just several (3-5) individual scales in different areas of his body. What could this indicate? I kept up the humidity and everything. Could he possibly have scaring on some scales? He is too small and too dark to actually get a good look. Thanks again for everyones help.

I thought the same thing was happening to my corn. Turned out that some of the scales simply changed color from orange to whitish.

The retained skin was actaully hanging off of him so that wasn't it. He is a jet black snake (hence the name) so it was pretty apparent which scales wre retained.
