I just recieved three newly imported mali uros, all three of which seem to be suffering from some sort of skin ailment. The backs of all three are nearly solidified like a callus, while their bellies are fine. The only thing I have found in a new Uromastyx care book merely say that skin problems are a sign of too high humidity. They are currently in a six foot long cage on cypress mulch that had been dried out for two days under spot lamps before they were introduced to the cage. I've done the usually recommended once a week soaking to rehydrate them, and drying them completely before putting them back in the cage. They are eating well on greens, seeds, and iguana pellets. The basking spot nearest to the PowerSun 150 watt bulb gets to the recommended 120 degrees and the ambient temp. is fine. No water bowl. Is there anything else i should do? I have them in the driest place I can measure in the house and they just don't seem to be getting any better. Could this be anything other than just too high humidity on their trip here, say a fungus or something, or is this a problem that will just take a while to go away? Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as I love my uros and want them to get better as soon as possible!
