The larges Black Rat I have had and it was a Kansas Record was 7'3". It was a male. Most of the males I run across are larger.

My male and female were born about 1-2 days apart. My male is about 3" longer than the female. They are only about 6 months old though. The male is 25" and the female is roughly 22"

I have looked this up before. Males grow larger in E. obsoleta obsoleta. There has been some real research done on this question.
