Cutting 11" heat tape?

I need 2 1/2 feet of 11" heat tape, is it safe to cut through the middle of a section?

You can cut it anywhere you want. Just make sure to seal the exposed conductors and heat tracing with good electrical tape (don't use cheap electrical tape.)
