Snake in Nicaragua

I received this pic from a friend in Nicaragua. Any idea as to what it is? It was taken in the outskirts of Managua.

but I think it is Masticophis mentovarius, the Neotropical Coachwhip.

Maybe this head sot will help you out a little bit more. I could see it being Masticophis mentovarius, the Neotropical Coachwhip... but part of me thinks it may be something else.

I just photographed this snake killed in Managua. Are they the same species?
