my girlfriend brought a hampster home and it is currently in the same room as my dumerils boa... i noticed the boa almost immediatly starting searching its tank for food..... will this pass or is the hampster going to over-stress my snake?

hey, i would move the hamster. or you could end up with a bite yourself since he is wanting that food item. not to mention the relentless scent driving your boa nuts.
Hamsters smell different than mice, he should get used to it and eventually realize that the hamster is not an available food item.
No reason to get rid of one pet to please the other, you can't have your animals training YOU.
