At the shoreline

While trying to photo this mangrove salt marsh snake yesterday

I saw this girl at my feet
so I had to get right down on the ground with her for a better pic.

Saw three or four more but no good pics.

That's so very nice to look at. Up here we've seen one day only without rain for well over a month! And it's cold! With every few days cycling from freezing to thaw, water snakes and sunshine are a refreshing respite.
How often do you get out, and do you tend to "hunt" the same locals/see the same snakes or do you move around from site to site?

haha Michael. I guess it does beat the heck out of snow and/or rain. We could use some of the rain however.
Anyway, most of the msm snakes I post are from the same small area near my house. When I only have 30 min.-1 hr. or so to kill, it's a great place for me to relax. It's also a favorite fishing spot. (the msm and snook both love the same minnows)
These are snakes I grew up with as a kid. I'm sure I see some more than once.

I'll trade you 5 days of rain for one day of fishing and two days herping. Trouble with living in a boreal rainforest is the short warm season, when the few herps we have are active.
I know I've said it before but, the habitat and close-up photos you've provided really are a window into another world.
They also offer design parameters for terrarium conditions which are noted with each new pic.
