If any of you have kids you will appreciate the cartoon I saw yesterday. Yes, I was watching this with my girlfriend and it is targeted toward very young children.
Anyway, Diego (the cousin of Dora the Exporer who got his own show geared to a slightly older audience) had to go through the amazon during the dry season to help Ana the anaconda get to the water to cool off. I actually had a lot of fun watching this program since it was not loaded with sensationalist fear provoking information on anacondas. They taught kids how anacondas are green with black spots and need to keep cool in the hot jungle. They also taught kids they are very strong and good at squeezing when they had to help Ana pull a broken bridge together so they could get across. The cartoon actually looked more like a green anaconda than the recent anaconda movie which took place in Borneo.
here is the same old picture of an anaconda we call Ana.
not because anaconda starts will "ana" but because of a little girl my girlfriend loved teaching gymnastics to. Nearly all my snakes have names which are usually given by little kids or my girlfriend. I do lots of educational exhibits and programs and names for the animals really helps kids connect.
