Really nice setup Bill, your snakes seem to be in really good care.

Here is an isolation pod for new imports.

I have an isolation room separate from the house which is 8’x8’x10’. I have a laminar flow room which doubles as quarantine and two whole separate rooms for captive born animals. Or long term captive wild caught. I try to keep only captive born in one room and wild stuff in the other and that is about it.

sighthunter I was wondering if you ever bred wild caught with captive bred snakes?

Sighthunter Jan 29, 2006 09:43 PM

I do breed wild to captive hatched but only after I capture the genetics with captive to captive breeding or in a situation where a mate cannot be provided from captive stock. Once a captive bred animal is bred to wild stock it is considered wild caught and treated as such.

Bill, that is awesome! What material do you use for the screen on the front? Is it metal? Just wondering if you have had any issues with nose rubs on it. I am considering building something like that when I get my next dry. (My Uni's enclosure is 6' x 2' x 18" with a 3'x2'x 10"hide box on top)

I use plastic coated wire. If you look at my snake pictures not one has a rubbed nose. A good secure hide spot and they don't get nervous enough to rub on cage. They come out bask forage and bed down for the night.
