Mice breeding tubs... ideal type? Rubbermaid?

EastnWestHerps Jul 25, 2003 07:12 PM

I've been breeding mice for a while now and they've been kept in 10 gallon aquariums... well I've only got so many and I would like to expand into a rack system. Would the mice chew through tubs such as rubbermaid. I've heard cat litter pans work well but they are pretty spendy.

Thank you,
Clay, EastnWest Herps

i use SMALL Van Ness cat litter pans. I think i paied $1.75 each for them?..

the key to a good tub is NO INNER EDGES.. if you can find them elsewhere with no inner edges.. and straight walled for easy sliding in a rack.. then use em..!

ive been toying with the idea of using the tubs found here Us Plastics Material Handling Trays in a new rack myself.. but havent got to that point yet..

honestly.. dont use rubbermaid.. it will be such a hassle and mess WHEN they chew out.. and you will loose alot of money and time..

best of luck
