PTS Question and Wanted: CB PTS

zeteki Jul 25, 2003 07:17 PM

I bought a PTS in 1998 for $80 at a herp show. I was told at the time that it was CB, and never thought more about it until recently. I assume that prices for PTS in '98 would be lower than they are now, due to their '92(?) addition to CITES app. II, but I'm still curious because I've heard of very few people that breed them. Considering how infrequently they breed and the low #s of offspring, the price still seems rather low. Does anyone remember what pricing was like pre-CITES, and does what I was told jibe with your memory?

One of the reasons for my curiosity is that I've finally decided to buy another PTS and attempt breeding. I'd like to get a CB for my new PTS and it would be nice to know (I know I can't know for sure) the status of my guy/gal. Unfortunately I no longer remember the name of the individual that sold me the skink.

I was going to ask you all for sexing tips, but I came across Brian's C/A ratios, so I'll try that.

So all that said, does anyone know of any CB PTS's for sale or soon to be for sale around either Indiana or in the DelMarVa region? I'm not willing to ship, and I'd like to see parents. Thanks!

Ok. Just realized that '92 happened *before* '98, so PTS were already listed (assuming I have my dates right). So now the price seems even more ridiculous for CB.

My only excuse for not knowing how to count is that my brain is melting from overwork.
