More of the 'unidentified' carpet

Chance Jan 28, 2006 10:04 AM

Yesterday's gorgeous weather just begged me to get pictures of a couple snakes outside, so I took a few more than will hopefully more easily shed some light on this girl's species/hybrid history. Last time I posted, I had a few IJ, mostly coastal, and I think even one or two jungle guesses. Do these make it any clearer?

Hi there,

If you really want to know which of the carpet subspecies your animal is most closely related to...

Get a DNA test

- Otherwise we can only guess. There is so much variation between individuals of the same subspecies, let alone from one subspecies to the next.

Its probably an intergrade, possibly coastal and jungle??? but I'm really just guessing.

If it were me, I would just call it a "Carpet Python" and leave it at that.
