what to feed babies, and when will they eat ???

MysticHerp May 18, 2003 10:10 PM

My female had 5 babies saturday night.

They are all residing in a 10 gallon aquarium right now.

I would like to know an appropriate starter diet for them, and how many days it would be before they start to feed.

They are drinking normally right now, but have shown no interest in small mealworms, or small superworms.

Is a good quality moist cat food going to get them started or will the insects be ok ??

Thanks

Matt

Make sure the temperatures are right. It's a pretty small tank, so monitor it closely. More importantly, separate them as soon as you possibly can or you will have nipped toes and tails soon. Offer them a variety of high-quality foods and they'll eat when they're ready. Use more than one feeding dish to minimize the chance of "accidentally" biting a sibling. Congratulations!
