He's not sure of the location ... any hints??
Thanx

It's a Boa constrictor imperator, and it's Central American.

I thought one of the "diagnostic" characteristics of imperator was expansion of the stripe on the middle of the head (the cross shaped bar)?
Here's one from the northern part of the imperator range that has one although it can be hard to see -

and a juvie from the southern part (Panama) of imperator range with the same "cross bar".

I may be wrong, but I remember reading in an old publication that this crossbar was found in all imperator.
Or are you ID'ing it based on some other character?

It's a "Colombian" red tail boa that are imported/bred frequently. It is not (in my opinion) a B.c.c. There are several characteristics which define South American B.c.c. and this animal exhibits none of them.

Yeah I know this is really late but that definately is not a BCC... It's either a relly dark Columbian or a central american... I would go with a central american though...
