Those are looking great Bob....
I would say the female in the bottom pic is an intermediate between leonis and MSP.......Don't you think?

Hey Bob

Nice! I like the second one. Looks like something in between a leonis and milksnake phase. Where did you get these beauties? Take care man!

Look-a-here! Who's in the pic! hehe.

Jonel, I really like this one. Is this one of your offspring?

Hi Michelle

No. I only produced oranges this year. No greens yet (maybe next year). This lovely male is from Mr. Hansen himself. Got two nice greenish males from him last year. Here's the other. BTW, how are the babies? Any special projects for you in '06? We would love to hear about it. Take care.

Hi Jonel, that one really is a looker too, I love the green.
The babies are doing great, I will have to send you updated photo's. As far as projects this year, I have a trio of reduced black thayeri that I am going to breed for the first time, along with 3 other females that I haven't decided who to put with who yet, I just started bringing everyone up yesterday. I am working with Thayeri, Knob's, mexican blacks, and a few boas this year. It seems like I never get out the snake room now that brumantion is over. I noticed you had lots of orange this year and they were all beautiful.
take care Michelle

Michelle,
When did you lower your temps? I did in the middle of November and will not warm them back up until the middle of March. I was just wondering since you say your brumation is over......I used to do great with a brumation period from Thanksgiving to Valentine's Day, but last year that did not work for me that well.....LOL

I remember reading (on the other forum) last year that someone PRODUCED alterna in March.....That really amazed me. I wonder if some people can 'trick' their snakes in to brumation and cycle them to produce offspring year round. I have seen some people advertising reverse cycled snakes on the classifieds....Has anyone tried this???????

John, I lowered my temps mid October, actually October was cooler than we are seeing right now in Jan. Last year I lowered them mid Nov. then brought them out for Valentines day. I don't know what is going on with the weather but we have seen days in the upper to mid 60's for about 2 weeks.

Try Upper to mid 80's for 3 weeks down here.......good thing I got air conditioning.......LOL

mrogers Jan 29, 2006 11:03 PM

John, you would have freaked over my last year method. I just put them in the laundry room and left them from Nov. to Feb.
Luckily they produced viable eggs. I had 12 eggs off the first clutch with 10 hatching and the second clutch 10 out of 10 hatched. The mexican blacks I screwed up and got the moss to wet and lost all but 2 eggs but she laid 10. this year I planned and played by the books though.

Yeah....I used to stack them by the kitchen door on the tile floor during the winter and get good results.......Now they are finicky it seems.....

jonellopez Jan 30, 2006 02:11 AM

Hi Michelle

Keep us (me-*wink*) updated on the projects. We (I-*wink*) would love to see some pics of what you produce. Hehe. Mine are still in brumation until mid to late febuary like many so you'll be ahead of everyone here. I cant wait already and I hope I get another good year with thayeri and a better year with the pyros(damn warm Cali winter weather is killing me). Anyway, keep us updated. Take care.

Jonel:

Those two snakes you got from me are looking good. Thanks for sharing updated pics. As for these two just posted, both were produced by Randy Wright. That had a bit of a different look that I found attractive.

Cheers,

Bob

Hey Bob

Thanks. Those are actually old pics taken after I got them from you. My digicam went down the toilet and I'm planning to purchase a new one this spring to make use of your diffuser suggestion and maybe try a light box/tent to take pics. Hopefully I can get better pics of them in a couple of months. Keep in touch and I hope to hear about a couple of females for me this year, hehe. Take care.
