Mex mex pairings for this year.......

jlassiter Jan 28, 2006 09:49 PM

I took these pics before brumation....
Male Splitband.....

Female Black Phase....

Female Classic.....

Male Black Phase...

Do you think I should pair the black phase female with the black phase male or try her with the Splitband male again this year?.....I was hoping to produce some splitbanded black phase offspring last year, but the female laid slugs......Or should I pair the black phase up and try to produce more black phase offspring?.....

Are your Black phase from Ric Blair's stock? They're very nice looking. I just got my first pair of Mex Mex, they're the "classic" type. I can't wait to see what they look like as adults. Good luck with your project.

I do not believe they are from Ric Blair's stock unless Ric can confirm his were of Lloyd Lemke stock.....My male is from Lemke stock and I picked up the female from Mark Kenderdine.
I believe Ric's stock orginated at Kims' Kolubrids, but I still am not for sure.......I think Ric picked them up from the guy who got them off of Kim before she closed her doors....I think the guy's name was Smith, but, again, I am still not for sure.....

BLK-x-BLK, they arn't as common in the hobby as the other phase.

I agree with Jetzen.
blk x blk, since you rarely see then anymore and if you can get the black/dark ground with very light/bright saddles they are incredible.
Good luck John, please keep this mex mex fan updated!
