I'm breeding my '02 unknown local pair for the first time this year, wish me luck! My male looks very similar to yours, and the female has pale orange bands. I can't wait to see what the colors of the neonates are.

Good luck with them Phil.....they can be stubborn feeders as hatchlings, but sometimes you get lucky and they all eat right off.....Snakes are individuals......Each are different....

Sorry about the confusion. I do have 2.1 '05 Annulata though and I can't wait to see how they turn out.

Beautiful Annulata John. Is he a full grown adult? And if so, about how large is he? I have an 05 male, and he's one of my favorites. You can see below how laid back he is. Post some new photos when you get a chance, on the Milksnake Forum of course.

I would not say he is full grown, but he is of breedable size for a male Annulata. He measures around 20 inches tops.....
Good luck with your Mexmilks....they are cool little snakes with the calmest of all dispositions for Milksnakes.....
I like the orange headed Milk you got.....I have found two tangerine colored Mexmilks on the road near where I collected my male.....Too bad...

did you field collect it?
Sure did.....My 5th one in 10 years or so....My first from that locale though...

I'm very interested in Texas Milks (I live in the DFW area). If you don't mind, do you find them in the morning foraging or rock flipping?
All I can really say is what I experienced.....
The other 4 I found were found in the evenening before sundown in the sand dunes on Padre Island under tin that was placed on trails through the dunes. I hear rumor that Dan Johnson put the tin there, but I am not for sure.....LOL
This one I found early last year (Jan. 1 to be exact) was found in a fire wood pile mid morning at a friend's property. It was 80 degrees down here on the first, but the strange thing was this....8 inches of snow just finished melting after falling on Christmas Eve......You gotta love South Texas weather.
I have seen two fresh DORs in the same locale as this one while out road cruising at night.......I still am looking for a suitable female for him.....

Hi John
Appreciate the info. I'm planning to hunt for Milks this spring. Probobly closer to home (DFW) but am always interested in hearing personal accounts. I've collected Zonata in California within a few feet of snow in the early spring. Amazing the temps herps are active at.
Thanks
Stu Tennyson
