Best bedding choice for Cyclura nubila

the_keeper_73 Jan 29, 2006 02:22 AM

I am seeking some opinions for a substrate choice for a 3' Cyclura nubila. I want something that looks decent, but is still simple to clean and safe in the case of ingestion. He was kept on alfalfa pellets which were fine when new, but started turning to powder and putting off dust after 10 days or so.

I used to always use rabbit pellets. That is until i went to a room size inclosure. I now use sand. It is very easy to spot clean and looks natural. A yard is around 20bucks which is very cheap. Cypress Mulch is another good choice if you can find it.
