Question, New to Leos

yukirinehart Jan 29, 2006 04:17 AM

Ok, well I have an under the tank pad heater, I have a hide on top of the pad, and my Leos cant get enough of it, or course there are tons of other hides, would this be a problem? Im just concerned about burns.

You need to monitor the temps right on top of the substrate on the warm side. You should maintain them between 88-93 degrees. As long as they are in that range you are fine. If you aren't doing this you need to get a digital thermometer with a probe as soon as you can. Is this a humid hide your leo is staying in on the warm side? I know all my leos just about live in their humid hides during the day LOL

Yes, it is a humid hide; was just kind of paranoid. Thank you very much for the reply.

If it doesn't feel hot enough to burn you to probably won't be hot enough to burn your little ones.
