update pics of Pyro and our She-Male lol

dragonsbynature Jul 25, 2003 08:32 PM

Here are a few more pictures I took tonight with my new camera. They came out pretty good I think.

This is a closeup of Pyro.. he's now 13 1/2" at exactly 12 weeks tonight. Can you tell he's been slopping around in his greens? lol.

Here is another picture of our neat looking She-Male lol.

Those dragons look great, and thier size looks just like little Foster did. Very large for thier age LOL. Great orange color on the beard as well. Don't remember at what age mine developed the beard colors, I think they were a little older then yours though. Not sure have to check back through some photos. How many from your clutches did you hold back? Right now I got 8 dragons 5 just about breeding age and 3 that I got as babies this season. I know I'm going to want to keep some of my babies next year as well. Ohh well, who needs a dining room table any way.lol. Moved in to this apartment about 3 months ago. Thinking now I should of gotton a two bedroom. Thank god for those melemines being stackable. Getting rid of all my glass tanks just a waste of space.

Yea the stackable cages are definitley the way to go when housing a lot of dragons.. aquariums are just impossilbe to use to house dozens of dragons I think.. we've held back quite a few.. i don't know off hand but from this year alone i'd say 20 maybe... we've got a ton.. i need to sell some of them though we have a lot of redundant colors... i just like them.

Wow that is a lot of hold backs. I was planning on one or two of the best from both pairings to keep. Twenty I would have to give up my bedroom.lol Your doing the right thing though if you have the room and the food to hold back that many it's good to grow out a few and pick the best at an older age. Can't really tell what you got ontill they are older. Foster was one of the last of his clutch to go, and look at him full of color and just a monster in size.

well, we have an entire reptile room.. i've been doing reptiles pretty seriously for the last 8 years... so it's not that much harder for me to keep the dragons... it's a lot more expensive though our food bill is around $250 a week for the dragons alone.. it gets old lol.

Pyro is looking awesome! I too have a young dragon named Pyro...hope he gets somewhere near as beautiful as yours... Actually it's funny you named him Pyro since you have a Pumpkin as well...I guess great minds think alike. I checked out the new website look and it looks wonderful...keep up the good work!

one of the most stunning dragons I have seen. Put me on the list for babies.

just curious, do you have any pics of pyro at a couple weeks old for comparison? are those the colors he was born with?

thank you for the complement I have a few pictures of him around here somewhere.. i'll have to find them I've got thousands of pictures of the dragons that are not sorted out... i remember that when a few of these were born they showed more color then the rest.. but i never paid to much attention to exactly which one was which.

I know by two weeks of age you could definitely see he had more red/orange in him, and after his first shed he was all red/orange. After his second shed he lost a bit of red and looked more orange and not that great, we almost sold him. Held onto him after his third shed and BOOM there was the color and it's just gotten better with each shed. Glad we didn't sell him!

I'll find some pictures of him and post them for you.
