Okeetee

johninbs Jan 29, 2006 08:56 PM

I got this Abbotts Okeetee on 12/30 from Don at SMR. He's about 14 inches long and about the thickness of a pencil. Very thin. He hasn't eaten yet, he refused his first meal three days after I got him. He then proceeded to regurge his next two pinkies on 1/9 & 1/16. I'm gonna try again tomorrow. My fingers are crossed.

Thanks Kathy, I'll definitely try that. Even the smallest pinkies seem large for him at this point.

I know how you feel. If you have not seen my previous post, I have a problem feeder. By now she should be 3xs her size. New born pinkies look huge to her. I tried force feeding mouse tails to help stimulate her feeding response. It helped once. Now I have to force pinky heads. I tried a whole pinkie last time, but it didn't work. Gonna stick with heads until I get some weight on her. Good luck to you.

I fed my Okeetee tonight. Gave him a small pinkie head and he gobbled it down in a minute. Now the waiting game. The first time he regurged the next day after eating, last time was two days after eating.

Did you check the temps? My butter was giving me a little trouble too. He refused to eat his last two feedings. I raised the temps a little and he ate no problem tonight.

Good luck!

John
