Gravid pastel circle-back ladder-tail

LauraV Jan 29, 2006 09:01 PM

At least she should be gravid. Introduced male 10/18/05, removed him 11/23/05, as he lost interest in her. She shed 12/11/05. She grew larger, so I put the male back in with her a couple of different times (when he lost interest in another female, thinking maybe her other side produced eggs, but he has not shown any more interest in her.

This is the same male that produced those amazing pastel hypos for Brandon Weik, at Summit Reptiles. Thank you Brandon - I am so jazzed to have him in my collection!

I hope he will do so well with my girl.

Here is my girl. She is a smaller boa. 3 years old and only 5.5 feet. She has a very good appetite, and has always been fed well; she is never going to be big. She has darkened since becoming gravid, but held good color until then.

Here she was at 4.5 (so you can remember her)

Right before becoming gravid:

Gravid

I just can't imagine her getting much larger, but unless she became pregnant on her first copulation date, she is due to get a whole lot larger.

...those circle-back ladder tails!! I can't say I blame you though, they're beautiful! Good luck with her, and reserve one for me, I'll be first in line!

may all go well.
Thank you.

Colorwise, your little pastel male reminds me a lot of the coloration my female had as a subadult. I didn't have her as a baby, but I bet they would have been a perfect match. I wish I could have found the funds to purchase another male, because I would have liked yours...I think he will be amazing as an adult...I can't wait to see how he looks then.

They are one of my favorite patterns.
I am just hoping she will throw herself. The babies are sure to be clean pastel or pastel hypo...but, I also want clean CBLT pastel hypos!!
Now, if only I can find that in a male Suri with the coloring of my female Suri...I would be heaven....right, I see that happening...

I'm really hoping she will not go into March...I can't even comprehend the size she would be by then...If we go by her post ov shed date of 12/10/2005, her first breeding date of 10/18/2005 (if she took then), then I will remain very worried about her.

I love the way that girl looks! I've always had a thing for ladder tails though! I think you will have a litter of just killer, gorgeous babies and I can't wait to see them. Definitely keep us all posted on her!

Thanks,
Celia

I will certainly keep everyone updated. Especially since I am worried about her and her due date. She looks like she is going into shed again...if she is, then perhaps her post ov shed doesn't really mean anything, and I can use 10/18/2005, when she was bred, to get an idea of a better due date. Mid March just seems way too long for the size she is now. We shall see.
