yes, he absolutely should get to the same size. the granite gene is only a color mutation. in all other aspects, the snake should be identical to any other normal burmese python.

however, if that snake was inbred (i.e. father to daughter or brother to sister) then there may be additional problems with regard to it's health and demeanor.

just to clarify the inbreeding comment and trying not to sound uppity but inbreading is brother and sister . Line breeding is father to daughter or mother to son, and line breeding is used to purify some genetics, granted if line breeding is done to often then yes you will get defects. every now and then it is not such a bad idea to do a little line breeding just to keep the line clean. And for all of you thinking with your twisted little minds I by no means am I saying to breed with your family members this is just for those breeding animals.

Line breeding is precisely the same thing as inbreeding. It's just a more marketable term for it. Either one simply means breeding closely-related individuals. Look it up.

Basically your right BUT,you will NOT find any quality breeder of animals that will breed siblings because the genetics are to close. So that is why the term line breeding is used when breeding one parent to an offspring . To any quality breeder line breeding is the term used as well the method. That is why it takes so long to properly prove out certain traits
