HELP!!!!

Ok I know this is the BP forum but I trust your opinions and I need help with my rat snake he seems to have a very bad RI and I have called every vet in my area that sees snakes and no one has an appointment avail. till wendsday. I have removed him from the rest of our collection, he is in his rubermade under a low watt heat lamp in a seperate room on newspaper with a small bowl of water in with him what else should I do untill i can get him to the vet?

No disrespect intended, but you could post your question in the rat snake forum. I personally have specialized knowledge about Ball Pythons but know nothing about rat snakes. I could tell you what to do for a Ball Python, but it could be totally wrong for a rat snake. That's why there are different forums.

I'd bet that she's already posted the question in that forum and is only posting here for a second opinion.

I think I've heard people in the kingsnake forum say that increasing temperatures a little bit can help kingsnakes overcome a mild RI. Maybe increasing temperatures is a good remedy for all kinds of snakes suffering respiratory problems. I have no experience with diseases, but from what I've read, I'd bring the tub temperature up to about 93 on the hot side.
