When they don't get enough vitamin A in their diet they will start to fade.
If your turtle is behaving normally, eating, pooping, breathing normally & the only problem is that the color is fading then the thing to do would be add more foods to the diet that are rich in vitamin A. If you see other symptoms like not eating, not breathing right then it'd be time to see a vet.
Don't make the turtle take actual vitamin A because it's a fat soluble vitamin & if they get too much it'll become toxic.
It's better to feed it to them naturally through foods that are high in the vitamin. Yellow winter squashes, dark leafy greens are a couple of sources.
Reptomin even makes a treat food that's red colored & it has precursors to vitamin A in it. It'll make the colors come back.
Good luck!
