Parasite help please

joeysgreen Jan 30, 2006 11:33 PM

As you know, I should be studying, but I still manage to visit my few favorite forums rather regularly.
In addition to school, I still try to work with my local herp society and they've asked that I present a talk about parasites later this February.
Last year, there was a descriptive parasitic talk and I don't want to just repeat a similar song.
I've chosen to slant the topic and discuss the many things I"ve heard that are slightly less recognized, and what people should look out for.
Does anyone have stories, anecdotes, or links to such, of anything of the like?
I"ve seen much on parazap.
I've also seen several anecdotes to treat mites that are a bit scary. What scares me more is some people I"ve talked to saying that whatever they tried worked fine because most of the snakes didn't die from it, or that the neonates only remained motionless for 1-2 days...

Kelly H., what was that website we discussed about the pest strips? I"d like to review the info again.

Thanks for any help you can through my way

Ian

Ian,

I remember a little while back someone on these boards asked if dusting their frog's prey with fenbendazole powder (meant to be reconstituted) would cure and/or prevent parasite infections... Would it be a good idea to address this as something not to do?
