hi
I would like to know were i can order some roaches and what non climber species are better to breed. since i live in puerto rico it is dificult to me to get different types of feeders for my animals. I was going to get some silkworms to breed but it really cost me alot because the shipping and the chow and since roaches can eat diferent thing it would be better for me.

please if you have different liks the better.

You live in Puerto Rico?
Aren't you swarmed with all kinds of wild insects down there? I would be field collecting insects if I lived in a tropical climate, wild prey is the most beneficial by far.
Hang a white sheet outside with a flourescent tube lighting it up, go out late in the evening and see what type of juicy bugs
you find.

it will not work for me because all the people around here spay stuff to kill all the insects.

discoid and orangehead cannot climb glass. here's a link to a list of just about every type out there and also an article about keeping/breeding.

Not sure what ones you may or may not be able to get shipped there. When tropicals are shipped up north there is little chance of them completing their lifecycle, therefore not a a pest, but in other tropical islands, countries there is probably some restriction. As Matt said www.blaberus.com is a good place to begin. I think www.cricketfood.com also (used to) sell some non-climbing species. Btw, glad you are aware of the local spraying!
