to show a normal reddish one and another one that was found with an unusual look: Golden colored blotches on a gray background, currently the only one of its kind in the world as far as I know. Both were wildcaught on the same road about a quarter of a mile apart in South-east North Carolina. Sorry I don't have any outdoor pics yet, but if you are intersted (in an unusual wildcaught, OR normal wildcaught pic), I can e-mail you some good, natural-looking outdoor pics in a few days (when the weather improves). This is only to illustrate that "odd-ball" specimens DO turn up, but very rarely of course. (This is the first time I found an "odd-ball" in over 30 years of herping .) This pic itself is NOT my best pic, but the only one I have with a normal looking specimen pictured next to the unusual one.
