Force Feed

liquidsound Jan 31, 2006 01:29 PM

I have a little thing just 3 weeks old it has shed twice that i know of but it will not eat. It runns from the crickets and may or may not even look at the worms. To save all yall some typinging time yes both the meal worms and the crickets are small enough. Any advice on what can be done to get it to eat.. Possible force feeding....

Maybe you shouldnt call your leo a "thing", and then you might get more responses. Just my honest opinion, cya.

i agree your leo is not a thing.

Both of you hush up.

Force feeding should be used as a last resort. What are you temps during the day and night? How old is the gecko? Has it lost any weight? We're going to need more information before we can help you.

the temp during the day can range from 85-90 at night it is about 75-80 the gecko is three weeks old and yes it has lost some weight. I called the vet that I take my other ones to (it was about two weeks old at th time)he said it's not much he can do at that time being that it was so young. He also said that some babies don't start out feeding to well. All in all it is still active.

i also had the same problem out of on of my babys well she was a crested gecko which she eats like a horse now but i smushed crickets up and hand feed her .and she licked it off my finger. is she drinking at least?
