Correct Adult snake terminology?

Are Adult snakes according to sex called, Boars and sows,bucks and does,bulls and cows, stud and [bleep]es, sire and dam or something else?

I guess the "b word" doesn't make the cut, no matter what context it is used in.

I have heard people use sire and dam, but when I hear that it always sounds pretentious to me. It's just the "father and mother" or "male parent and female parent"!

as a biologist, i prefer "sperm donor and sperm receiver."

in more poetic moments, i go for "giver of the spermatozoa and holder of the treasured ova."
