29 Gallon

Just curious what do you think of using a 29 gallon Aquarium for enclosure for a BRB. Undertank heater and two 60 watt Night Light Spectrum Bulbs for Heat and Humidity Control.

What size is your snake? The tank is too large for a baby. You could house a juvenile animal in the tank between the ages of about 1-2 years. It will probably work for an adult (if you can very carefully regulate temperatures in the warm end of the cage), but it may be a bit small for a full-grown BRB. What are the floor dimensions of the cage? I have kept adults in sweater boxes with floors that are 24" x 16". The problem is that, in the summertime, the whole enclosure is the same temperature and the animal isn't able to thermoregulate.

30" long x 12" deep is a good size for the snake now. It will certainly hold him for another year. My adult BRBs are in cages that measure 36" x 24". This allows a nice large basking spot and enough room to put a large water dish in the cage. The cage below isn't furnished with plastic plants so that you can see the arrangement of hidespot and water dish. with furnishings, the cage appears a lot more clutterted or should I say "lush".
